2008 Event Formats St. Patrick’s Shillelagh Special Event will be an individual one with full handicap. Each player will be allowed to carry only two clubs, one being a putter and the other being his/her choice. From Tee to Green, only the second club chosen can be used to strike the ball. This includes fringes, traps, etc. Once on the putting surface, only the putter may be used. As in any other round, the total score on the hole will be posted on your card. At the end of the round your total score minus your handicap will equal your score for the event.
Individual Stroke Play by Flights Flights will be determined based on participation and are expected to be modeled after the Club Championship Flights.
All players will play their own ball.
Prizes will be awarded based on
gross and net scores and on member participation. USGA rules will apply, with one exception. You will be allowed to move your ball six (6) inches, in your own fairway only. If there is a rules question, you should play two balls on the hole in question, post both scores on your card, and the Rules Committee will make a determination after the fact.
If
weather conditions determine that lift, clean and place rules should be used,
that will be announced prior to the first tee time.
