Smiley A B C D Tournament
Format:  Four man teams

Each golfer plays his own ball throughout the 18 holes and individual scores will be posted for handicap purposes.  Each persons score should be totaled for front - back and total score for 18 holes.

80% of your handicap has been used to determine your handicap for this event, as indicated by dots on the scorecard.

Non-seniors tee off from White tees and seniors (65 and older) from the gold tees.

Each player will have a letter designation, a, b, c, or d, as indicated on the Scorecard.  Each player’s “Net” score will count on 4 of 16 holes (minimum).  These holes will be picked at random by the Tournament Committee and marked on each Pin, (Flagstick).

For example:  Player C may have his score count on holes 4, 7, 14 and 18.  But, he will not know this until the green is reached and the letter designation is seen on the pin

Two of the randomly picked holes will be  “SMILEY HOLES”.  On a  SMILEY HOLE you may pick the BEST NET score for an individual team member.  Use the same  method on each of the Smiley Holes.  A SMILEY FACE will appear on the pin.

HOW TO KEEPSCORE:
On each scorecard, you will notice “DOTS”!  Each “DOT” represents a handicap stroke.
ONE “DOT” = One handicap stroke
TWO “DOTS” = Two handicap strokes

Mark Each player’s actual score on the scorecard.  This represents the player’s Gross Score for that particular hole.
Subtract the number of “DOTS” (if any) from the gross score.
This represents the player’s NET score for that particular hole.  The NET score from that particular player will be posted on the TEAM score line on the scorecard.  When you are on a SMILEY hole, you are to place the LOWEST NET score of one player in the TEAM score.

USGA rules will apply, with one exception. You will be allowed to move your ball six (6) inches, in your own fairway only.  If there is a rules question, you should play two balls on the hole in question, post both scores on your card, and the Rules Committee will make a determination after the fact.

If weather conditions determine that Lift, clean and place rules should be used, an announcement will be  made prior to the first tee time.

Prizes will be based on participation
Winners will be announced on Saturday, following completion of the tournament
